I am Dennise, soap maker and creator of Briny Bar Soap. My passion for soap making is a combination of personal creativity, chemical education, and love for creating something wholesome and useful.
Briny Bar Soap is a chemically inspired name. I first made soap during a college chemistry lab using a simple recipe of pig lard, water and lye. Soap is chemically a salt, the product of any acid/base reaction. The word “briny” is simply a description of the product itself. I have since created my own recipes containing natural ingredients like coconut oil, olive oil, sustainable palm oil, sweet almond oil, and apricot kernel oil. Essential oils and natural colorants like alkanet root and cinnamon are also used. Vegan options are always available.
Briny Bar Soap has evolved into more that just soap. My other products include body butters, bath bombs, lip balms, and whipped salt scrubs.
While each product is naturally nutrient packed and skin nourishing, the packaging itself is made from 100% post consumer material (newspaper, kraft paper) or a reusable, plastic container is chosen with an easily recyclable number.
